Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.

I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done.

These and more of his meaningful quotes ring in my ears as I watch Lord Buddha’s serene and calm look in the painting my friend has gifted me.

“Chirp, chirp”, my doorbell rings. I open the door for the carpenter who has arrived with his drilling machine to help me mount this wonderful piece of art in my home.

Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it”. Our carpenter is well known to put his heart and soul into his job. Hence, after admiring the painting for quite sometime, he inquires, “Which is your favorite corner of the house where I should put the two nails and henceforth, Lord Buddha would shower his blessings on you?”

The mind is everything. What you think you become.” I think for a while but there are not many options. Our recent venture with our painter has blessed our house with designer walls, wallpapers, glow paints. So there is this one piece of wall between our kitchen and bedroom which is peaceful and demands a calm décor. I ask the carpenter to disturb its tranquility for a while with his noisy drilling machine.

No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” I am delighted seeing the painting walk its path to my home and now, become my home’s prized possession.

Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them for good or ill.” The carpenter takes  leave now. I give a thought to his question again. “ Which is your favorite corner of the house?” I ponder for awhile and look around to find the answer.

One complete round of the house and then I am enlightened – “Buddha Enlightenment!”

My bathroom! It may sound crazy but let me list down my reasons for my favoritism.

It helps release all the pressures. *Ahem ahem!*  I agree with your thoughts but think a little beyond –

When you feel stressed out mentally, with all the pressure your little one brings along with these words written in his/her almanac, ‘Recitation next week, Topic: Any Season’ or ‘Hindi Speaking Skills, Topic: My favorite vegetable’ or ‘Show and Tell, Topic: Objects used during rainy season’, just take a chill pill since your bathroom will prove to be your savior. You roam and sit in all corners of the house with a pen and paper to jot down lines for her recitation, your mind will seem blank. Enter your bathroom and believe me, in few minutes, you would be well prepared with all what you want to pen down and help your little one learn and understand.Writing down one such bathroom creation written for my five-year old, Topic: Umbrella:

‘God protects us under his big blue umbrella – the sky,

But when it rains from the rain, I hold my umbrella up high.

When it is sunny, my umbrella protects me from harmful rays,

and helps me keep a big smile on my face.

Beach umbrellas help me enjoy the beach and sand,

as under it I watch the waves and sand join hands.

Umbrella straws make me happy,

when I dip them in my favorite ‘Appy.

Umbrellas come in different sizes,

giving you lots and lots of choices.

My umbrella is of my favorite color – Pink,

with princess printed on it in purple ink.

I love my umbrella for these reasons,

also it helps me enjoy all seasons.’

No wonder there have been a number of inventions which have originated in the bathroom.

Music lovers find bathroom as the best place to sing their heart out and earn the coveted title of bathroom singers.

Coming back to our pressure release talk, when you feel stressed out emotionally and you want your company alone for a while, just lock yourself in the bathroom and shed those tears. With salty water’s exit from your eyes, you would sense the exit of the emotional pressure from your body too. If someone knocks to disturb the process, just turn on the tap and indicate ‘Do not disturb’ without hanging the tag. It works wonders!

Acknowledging the immense importance of the bathroom and its grooming capability, cosmetic industry also boasts of a number of products which can help you spend hours together in the wonder room. Pre-shower, shower and post-shower products add to your bathroom’s as well as your beauty.

So the next time when you step out of the bathroom and glance at your mirror, admire the beautiful you with a beautiful and stress-free mind, ready to live and enjoy each moment of the day! Happy BathGrooming!
